Privacy Policy

Last updated October 30, 2026

This policy explains what personal data ScreenShipper collects when you use the website and editor, why we collect it and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can: there are no ads, no advertising cookies and no selling of data.

ScreenShipper is developed and operated by Utku Zıp and Bünyamin Erdoğan, trading as Workorm. They are jointly the data controllers for the personal data described here. "We" and "us" mean Utku Zıp and Bünyamin Erdoğan (Workorm); "you" means the person using ScreenShipper. You can reach us at support@screenshipper.com.

What we collect

  • Account details. When you create an account we receive your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them.
  • Your projects. If you are signed in, your projects, the images you upload (screenshots, icons, backgrounds) and any fonts you upload are stored on our servers so you can open them on any device.
  • AI translation. When you use AI translation (Pro), the texts you translate, your app name and the languages you choose are sent to OpenAI to produce the translation. OpenAI may also use these texts to improve its models (see below). We keep the translated texts in a cache so the same text isn't translated twice, and count how many texts you translate each month. Your screenshots and images are never sent.
  • Exports. Pro exports are rendered on our servers. The finished zip is kept for one hour so you can download it, then deleted.
  • Technical data. Our servers record IP addresses and request details in short-lived logs to keep the service secure and to fix errors.
  • Usage statistics. We count page views and a few actions (such as signing up or exporting) with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we host ourselves. It uses no cookies, doesn't store your IP address and can't identify you. Browsers with Do Not Track turned on aren't counted.
  • Without an account. Projects stay in your browser's storage (IndexedDB) and never reach our servers.

Why we use it

  • To provide the service you signed up for: signing you in, saving and syncing your projects, and producing your exports (performance of a contract).
  • To enforce plan limits and protect the service from abuse (legitimate interest).
  • To understand which pages and features are used, in aggregate, so we can improve them (legitimate interest).
  • To answer you when you contact us.

We do not use your projects or images to train models, and we do not look at them except when you ask us to help with a problem. Texts you send for AI translation are shared with OpenAI under its data sharing program and may be used to improve OpenAI's models. These are the captions you'll publish on your store listing; don't put anything confidential in a text you translate. If you don't want this, simply don't use AI translation: nothing else you do in ScreenShipper is sent to OpenAI.

Polar (polar.sh)Payments, tax and invoices, as merchant of recordEmail, name, billing address, purchase history (card details go to Polar's payment processor, never to us)

Some of these providers are located outside Türkiye (for example in the United States and the European Union), so your data may be transferred abroad under appropriate contractual and legal safeguards.

When you buy Pro, Polar processes the payment as merchant of record. We receive your purchase status (plan, renewal date) but never your card details.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Session cookie (__session): keeps you signed in for up to 14 days. It is strictly necessary and cannot be read by scripts.
  • Firebase storage: Firebase keeps sign-in state in your browser's storage.
  • Editor storage: your projects and preferences are saved in your browser (IndexedDB and local storage) so you never lose work.

We do not use advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies, so we don't show a cookie banner.

How long we keep it

  • Account data, projects and uploads: until you delete them or delete your account.
  • Export files: one hour.
  • Server logs: up to 30 days.
  • Backups: deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before it is overwritten.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict how we use it. You can delete your account at any time on the Account page: this removes your projects, uploads and sign-in account immediately. For anything else, email support@screenshipper.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Projects and uploads are only available to the account that created them. Sessions are stored in a secure, HTTP-only cookie, and every write request is checked to come from our own site.

Children

ScreenShipper is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell signed-in users before they take effect.
